A very beautiful early morning walk today/
Naughty sheep outside of their field.
You can see where there have been coming in and out of the paddock.
The lighthouse in the distance.
Sea and sky, perfect.
Listening.
Splash
I believe this is wild garlic.
This is a memorial to a young boy who died after falling from his horse in this spot
You can read about it here: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/106656935/francis-gray-bacon
I seem to do a lot of hill walking...my phone app is quite funny in that it says how many 'floors' I climb...today apparently it was 45 floors!
I know that I do feel a bit like a mountain goat at times.
I must see if it gives highest values...that would be interesting.
I forgot to post a couple of photos from the garden yesterday...or rather the pond.
I had to top the water up as the level had gone down significantly the last couple of weeks.
The water lily is growing.
There are masses of tadpoles
and yes still a lot of green slimy blanket weed!
Today I reorganised the green house a bit. Planted out some radishes, and also sowed some parsnip seeds in my top garden patch I dug over a few days ago.
I cleaned out the guinea pigs this morning, so they are happy munching on their new hay.
I always find your photos make me feel peaceful :)
ReplyDeleteLove the sheep too, xx
wonderful photos - especially like the tadpoles ones x
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful walk, stunning.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is definitely wild garlic. Some arrived in my veg box last week. Apparently you can add it to salad and stir fries, and there was a recipe (of sorts) for pesto which I decided to try. It actually worked surprisingly well, though the end result was very garlicky! I think I used about three large handfuls of wild garlic, a handful of hazelnuts, a tablespoon or two of nutritional yeast (it should have been parmesan but myself and the daughter who was eating it with me are both mostly dairy free), and olive oil. I blended it all, then added a bit more oil until the texture felt right. Definitely not an exact science! It made enough for two meals for both of us.
ReplyDeleteI love you photos of the sea. It makes up a bit for the fact that we won't see it for some time.
You have water lillies! All mine died a couple of years ago in the same year. I'm not sure why. I think this year I might take the fish out of the pond and give it a good clean out.
