Lots of photos from my walk today which took me in a new direction.
The sky was quite atmospheric this morning with the sun shining through the clouds.
Difficult to see in this photo but the sun's rays are angled out.
Looking down towards the far left, you can see how much the pond has dried out.
A new direction...going forward
Looking back to where I came from
Through woods
Wild primroses
So pretty.
Pinkbells
Bluebells
Signposts pointing the way
Cliff faces
Forget me nots
So pretty this wooded area.
I really enjoyed the walk this morning, it was nice to do a new and different route.
When I came home I stopped and looked at all the flowers that are coming out on our bank.
Pretty bluebells
Lovely yellows
Purples.
It was another stunning warm day today. I spent some of it sewing, working at making things to put in my Etsy shop for when I reopen it.
I mowed the front lawn - it takes two batteries of power to mow this front lawn!
Nice and tidy now.
I love watching the gunnera grow.
The leaves are starting to look huge now.
The place where I often sit with a cup of tea and to read a few pages of my book.
The climber near our front door is starting to flower.
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Stay safe.
What a lovely walk. It used to be a struggle to get primroses to grow in my garden and there you have them growing wild! Beautiful to see :) xx
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful to see. There is so much beauty around here and some wonderful plants growing wild, so pretty.
DeleteWhat a beautiful walk. I rather envy you all your options. I thoroughly enjoyed your flower and plant posts until I got to the gunnera. If ever there was a plant (apart from Japanese Knotweed) that I dislike it is gunnera. It has been spreading in the last three years on the peninsula where I live at an alarming rate. It's clogging up all the water courses and generally being a nuisance. We have formed working groups and started eliminating it last year. I'm just hoping all the good work we did will not be undone by the lockdown. Hopefully it will be over in time. Otherwise we will just have to cut the seed pods out of every one we pass on our 'walk near home'.
ReplyDeleteGosh I didn't know that Gunnera can become a problem! I will keep an eye on it for sure. I know it will provide much needed shade for the pond in the summer, but perhaps it is that that is 'drinking' all the water, causing the water level in the pond to drop, although I assume it is the really dry hot weather we have been having.
