Today I worked on finishing the TRDs I have been making.
This group three - all now dressed. One is still missing shoes, as I can't quite decide whether to give her any or not.
This is group four.
These ones are a combination of group one and two. (One missing that I gave to my neighbour)
A circle of tiny rag dolls.
The complete group, plus the cat I have made this month.
Some of these will eventually go in my Etsy shop, but I can't see that being for some time, as it will be when it is safe for me to go to the post office, and my NHS letter says that won't be for at least 12 weeks.
I have had this kit for years, so decided it was about time to make it up.
All the pieces are pre-cut.
Turned out rather a funny looking guinea pig!
This side is better.
The afternoon was drier than the morning, so once I had finished these, I went out for a nice walk.
The ploughed and sown fields are starting to look green.
A pretty overcast afternoon. Relatively mild, even though it was quite windy.
The sea was quite rough. Not sure what my camera lens is up to - with the sea being curved!
In this one the curve is in the opposite direction. Very strange.
Big vehicle carrier out at sea, and just to the left of it is a big oil tanker at anchor.
A bit far away to tell exactly what this bird of prey is.
He was really doing battle with the wind!
As I arrived home some seagulls were doing a circuit.
I managed to capture a couple in flight.
It seems incredible that there is only one day left in April!
My camera does that to sea horizons as well! Someone told me it was because the earth is curved and the eye makes compensation so we see a flat horizon, but I don't know how accurate that is. Your little dolls (and cat) are gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteYes I can understand that to a certain extent, but not sure why it was in the opposite direction (concave?) in the other photo. Strange. Thank you :)
DeleteHello! I've just stopped by from Sue in Suffolk to see what you are up to! I'm in Tasmania, Australia so felt we had something in common ;) I also had a peek at your sewing machines and have machine envy haha - theres something about those old black and gold Singers that is just so beautiful. My mother in law gifted me her old one that she used when she was first married and it had been given to her by her mother. I'm taking good care of it you may be sure!
ReplyDeleteYour rag dolls are gorgeous too and you seem to pump them out! So many! Also the guinea pig....my daughter has had piggies since she was 5 and now she's 22 and has two that live in a big open run in her lounge room! I bought her a ready made stuffed piggy a few years ago and am fascinated to hear that one can buy kits to make them!!!
Enough rambling - nice to 'meet' you - Evi
Thank you for your really lovely comment, so nice of you to visit, and I am glad you enjoy my blog and ramblings. I have had the guinea pig kit set for a number of years, can't remember where I got it from, possibly a charity shop, so I hope you can still get them. I got my first guinea pig when I was seven :)
DeleteI am loving those little dolls, they are adorable. Each one different and has its own personality, what a delight. Another great walk, a joy to see the photos. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) I really enjoy making them, and love how their little personalities emerge.
DeleteTake care, and my best wishes to both of you.
Those dolls are coming along beautifully..At least when you can put them in your Etsy shop again you will have enough backup stock.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That is the idea! If I can bear to part with them of course...but no, I will do. That is part of my plan is to make things to put in the shop when it opens, as well as the doll clothes I usually make.
