A Saturday Stroll

Or rather hike!

The sun came out this afternoon, so I wanted to take advantage of it, despite it being rather blustery!

Just look at this view!  It could almost be New Zealand!

I decided to try a new walk today...aptly named Cripple Path!

It was fairly steep, although not too bad.

Just look at this!

What a great place to place a seat.

Perfect place to sit and watch the view a while.

I just loved this, and to think it is virtually on my doorstep is amazing.

The walk carried on up the cliff face.

To some fields.

Another seat was placed in the perfect position to admire the views.

You can see how wet it is from all the rain we have had.

Oooh tunnels!

Not quite what I was expecting, but still interesting.

I got caught in a brief shower of tiny hail stones on the way home, but it cleared up again.  One advantage of being so close to the cost is the weather changes quite quickly.

I do have to giggle at the step app on my phone...apparently I did 34 floors today.  It says I did 4.2 miles, but I am pretty sure it would have been close to 5 miles.

An Afternoon in the Garden.

I spent some time in the garden on Wednesday afternoon as it was such a lovely day.

There is quite few plants flowering.

There is blossom on some of the trees.

So pretty against the blue sky.

I put up the 'Percy Proofing' fence to give him some bearings so he doesn't fall down the bank.

I assembled the bird feeder.  Not sure if it will stay out the back or if I will move it to the front garden.

I put the table back outside (I had bought it in because of the storms)

My MIL was throwing out this, and it was brand new in its box so I've put it by the pond. I forgot to check last night if the light came on!

I also put the bird box up.  I have another two to go up, but not sure where to put them.

It was a nice way to spend the afternoon which was otherwise marred by stress caused by the very unpleasant owner of the removal company.  Time to put it in the hands of our solicitor!

Green Woodpecker Spotted!

Difficult to see I know, but I saw my first Green Woodpecker yesterday hopping about on the grass in our back garden.  Hopefully I'll see him again and get a better shot.

Also we get Badgers frequenting our garden every evening as is evidenced by the digging that has been going on....I have still not managed to see any yet though!

Saturday Afternoon Walk & So Much Rubbish!

The weather has been pretty bleak, but when it cleared up this afternoon I took the opportunity to go for a walk as I was having a bout of 'cabin' fever.

Some beautiful flowers in one of the gardens down the road.

The track through the woods is quite flooded in places with running water.

Fungi growing on a fallen trunk.

Water was also flowing down the hillside to the beach, although not the best photo to illustrate this.

Part of the old harbour now known as 'Spindlers Follies'.

It was lovely to spend some time on the beach.

What was not so lovely is what I saw littered all over the beach.

So much rubbish has been washed up!

It is just disgraceful, what people are just throwing in the sea and oceans.

I forgot my rubbish bag today, but if I get a chance to go for a walk tomorrow I will go back down to the beach and pick up some of the rubbish.  It makes me so sad to see this.  I've never seen so much rubbish on a beach before.  Does it come from the ferries that regularly go past?  Fishing boats?  Just shameful.

This log was washed up and the poor shellfish have dried out and died.
