Bird Watching

It has definitely been a good day today for spotting birds.

I loved watching this buzzard.

So thrilled to capture it flying overhead.

I also saw a heron flying overhead this morning while I was chatting to my Dad on the phone.

I've seen several Red Admiral butterflies in the garden.

The view through the top of my seat, where sit and read whilst  drinking my tea during the day and write in the later afternoon.

A bit hazy this afternoon.

Although when I turn round to look up at the cliff, the sky is much clearer.

I watched some bees busy at work.

Talking about boats yesterday, the sea was very busy last night!

I think this was one of the Marella Explorer Cruise Ships.  I look up what is going past on the Marine Traffic website.  It is actually amazing just how many ships and boats there is on the sea!  It astounded me, you think it is quieter, but the channel is still immensely busy.

I went for a lovely walk this morning, up on the cliff.

What a great morning.

down through the woods.

Up steps.

Looking up at the wonderful blue sky.

Stunning bluebells in the woods.

Out to sea I also saw this this morning, but when I looked it up on Marine Traffic, it didn't show up for some reason.

Walking home up one of the tracks I heard a noise to the left of me, turned my head and there was a fox looking at me...only briefly before it disappeared.

  1. Wow some great shots of the wildlife. I am surprised by the amount of ships out at sea. I would have thought the cruise tours would have been cancelled. The ferries here are very limited bringing only essential items.

    1. I think (or at least I hope!) the ferries are now being used to transport goods... the ships are returning crew to various parts of the world from what I understand. But yes I was surprised how many are still out there, especially when you look at the actual Marine tracker.

    1. We used to see quite a lot of foxes where we used to live - very urban foxes, used to humans and built up areas. We had on occasion opened our front door to see one on the porch! They seem a bit more elusive here.
