Bird Watching

It has definitely been a good day today for spotting birds.

I loved watching this buzzard.

So thrilled to capture it flying overhead.

I also saw a heron flying overhead this morning while I was chatting to my Dad on the phone.

I've seen several Red Admiral butterflies in the garden.

The view through the top of my seat, where sit and read whilst  drinking my tea during the day and write in the later afternoon.

A bit hazy this afternoon.

Although when I turn round to look up at the cliff, the sky is much clearer.

I watched some bees busy at work.

Talking about boats yesterday, the sea was very busy last night!

I think this was one of the Marella Explorer Cruise Ships.  I look up what is going past on the Marine Traffic website.  It is actually amazing just how many ships and boats there is on the sea!  It astounded me, you think it is quieter, but the channel is still immensely busy.

Queen Mary 2

I went for a lovely walk this morning, up on the cliff.

What a great morning.

down through the woods.

Up steps.

Looking up at the wonderful blue sky.

Stunning bluebells in the woods.

Out to sea I also saw this this morning, but when I looked it up on Marine Traffic, it didn't show up for some reason.

Walking home up one of the tracks I heard a noise to the left of me, turned my head and there was a fox looking at me...only briefly before it disappeared.

Thursday

I went for an early morning walk today and fortunately didn't see anyone while I was out.

Of course that sounds anti-social under normal circumstances, but these aren't normal times, despite trying my best to treat day to day as 'normal'.

I spent quite a bit of time on the beach and walked round to the other cove as well.

I found this unusual looking stone.

It looks like it was part of something once upon a time, but was heavy just like a stone/rock

There was even some sand on this beach.

It was just so peaceful and beautiful

I walked back home through the woods.

A lovely morning walk - I did about 2 1/2 miles.

Some more flowers in the garden are starting to show their beautiful faces.

Lovely tulips.

I realised I had caught a fly on the petal.  Definitely not beautiful, but interesting nonetheless

Can anyone identify this plant for me please?

I put up my butterfly yesterday.  We have had this a number of years now, but I've only just had somewhere to put it up.

A table arrived today for my sewing machines.  At last I am able to unpack them.

I am quite pleased with it.  Only basic I know, but it does the job and is quite sturdy.  In fact I have ordered another one to use as my cutting table.  It can then be folded up and stored when not in use.

The first thing I did was to make a mask - I know it doesn't have the protective properties as a proper mask, but I wanted something to be able to put on if required when I am out walking.  I have made it so I can insert a surgical mask between the two layers.  It has a nice tight fit.  So my latest glamour fashion accessory is.....

at the very least it might make anyone I see keep their distance...
