In True Basil Fawlty Style...

The Lawn Mower got a thrashing and a stern telling off today...or words to that effect.    It seems it is very temperamental, or at least the batteries are.  Eventually, after a few tears, a cup of tea and a bit of a read, I was able to get back to the lawn and I finally managed to get the front lawn mowed but it took several hours as the batteries first stopped working after only three rows... so I recharged it, then eventually managed to get it done.  Although I didn't manage to do half of what I had hoped to do in the garden today.  I put the battery back on charge, and then the charger was making a horrendous noise...thank goodness I was charging it during the day as normally I do it at night at the cheaper rate....I immediately unplugged it.    So much for a brand new mower!

My Nemesis!

Looks nice now though.

This is looking amazing.  There was nothing there a few weeks ago.

The water lily has started to grow again.

The amount of blanket weed though is terrible. I have some treatment for it, but because the frog spawn is interlaced with it, I don't think I can use to the treatment at this stage.

Some pretty plants in the garden, quite a few that I need to identify.

Love the view, the sea is quite choppy today though.

I spy a ladybird.

I also saw a butterfly, but didn't capture that on film unfortunately.

So the day didn't go quite as I planned today, but it ended better than a period in the middle when I was getting frustrated with the lawn mower.  Fortunately I put my dinner in the crock pot this morning, so that has been quietly cooking all day and I don't have to worry about preparing and cooking anything this afternoon/evening.

  1. Doesn't sound too good for a new lawnmower...but at least the job is done!
The red flowers are wallflowers, the pom-pom on a stick is a drumstick primula.
    Spring has definitely sprung!

  2. That appears to be a large lawn you have there. I can understand your lawn mower frustrations, but it looks good now. I think I would have given up in disgust :)
