Tuesday Afternoon Coastal Walk.

I went for a rather invigorating walk this afternoon.  I think it was actually one of the coldest walks I have done ironically when you think we have had various storms etc the last few weeks.  My hands actually got very cold and I wished I'd worn my gloves!  Quite a contrast to this morning when it was relatively mild.

I decided to go down to the local bay, and passed these sheep along the way.

I think I found a badger sett.

Down in the bay.

I sat and listened to the tide rolling in for a while.

I decided to walk back along the coastal path.

St Catherine's lighthouse in the distance.

I haven't walked that way yet, so might do that next time I walk down to this bay.

The coastal path is slipping away.  I hope it doesn't completely go.

It doesn't look very steep in this photo, but was steeper than it looks.

Looking back at the cliff which is where I walked the other day.

Another badger sett I wonder?

What remains of the old Royal Air Force radar station and bunkers that protected the south coast during the war.

Looking back from whence I came

Looking forward to where I am headed.

I am glad I went out for the walk, although cold it was an enjoyable  hour and a half and almost three miles.

    1. Thank you, it is indeed a beautiful place and I feel so blessed. Fortunately I should be able to continue getting out and about as there are few people around. I did see two people yesterday but they kept their distance and didn't even say hello, which is most unusual! You keep well too.

  2. I am enjoying your walks on the island, my parents lived there for 42 years. I was there in November and had a lovely coffee and cake at Ventnor Botanic Gardens. I love the views along the military road.

    1. Wow! Whereabouts on the island did they live? Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such a lovely comment. The views along the Military Road are just incredible aren't they?! The Botanical Gardens are a lovely place to visit and have a tea/coffee. Guessing they will now be closed for the foreseeable future :(

    1. Oh NZ has so many interesting places too! I am missing my trip home to see my parents this year, but I am thinking that it turned out for the best with the travel risks.
