Garden & House: 1st - 9th March

Playing Catch Up!

On 1st March I went to pick up a free cabinet from a friend who no longer needed it.

I've put it in the laundry room which makes a difference.  We don't have any shelves or cupboards so this will certainly do us a turn.  It is much neater in the room now and I will also keep my bread maker in here as well.

Laundry and tool paraphernalia now tucked away from view.

I picked up a selection of seeds from the garden shop on the way home and now need to set up the glass house so I can get them started.

A Fuchsia blooming.

An afternoon in the sun reading.

Watching a little Dunnock busy in the driveway.

A Spitfire flying overhead.

First time I have mowed the lawns.  A new lawnmower which was a bit temperamental and ran out of charge before I could finish it!

Lots of ships sail past, always something different to see.

3rd March:

A new compost bin.  Having given up on the wooden one I ordered arriving, I succumbed to the plastic version which was a very good price on Amazon (after seeing how expensive they were in the garden shop I decided to order the Amazon one)

Another bed dug over - only half as the celery is in the other half.

Just gorgeous!

Rolling forward to this week.

Two of the metal coal bunkers/bins have been emptied and are now down by the house.  One fits in nicely next to the wood store (okay, I know it isn't pretty, but it is practical and will serve the purpose it was designed for).  The other is at the other side of the back as they didn't fit side by side.

These are just looking so lovely and I can see these outside my bedroom window.

Daffodils and jonquils flowering.

I had rather a productive morning yesterday.  After cleaning the bathrooms and vacuuming the house, and doing general house work, I spent the morning in the garden.

I mowed the lawn and strimmed it.  I managed to get a Bosch Strimmer for £10 from a Charity Furniture storeroom on Friday.  It works really well.  The lawn looks so much neater now.

Some plants bought in the weekend ready for planting.

I thought these might work well in the bank where there is a bare patch of earth.

The bare bank.

First one planted.

Another

I clearly need to get quite a few more plants!

It is a start.  I might get a couple of Hebes as well to go in here.

Blossom on the tree.

Another view of my tidy lawn, just because.

Frog spawn in the blanket weed, which I guess means I can't treat it at the moment.
