Mid-Week Update

Wednesday ended up rather busy.

My Pashley was collected in the morning to be taken to the bike shop for a quote on the repairs needed to it and the other two bikes (that we took over on Saturday) that were damaged by the removal firm.

The plumber came and replaced the leaking tap with a brand new one we bought last year for our other place but never had fitted.  I'm quite pleased with how it looks as it is less intrusive than the original one was.  The outside drain pipe was also fixed so that waste water actually goes down the drain rather than over the back path.  The plumber is a really lovely guy and very prompt.  Very pleased to have found such a reliable trades person that is for sure.

I built my second plastic compost bin and took it up the garden, but haven't put it in place yet as I need to level the ground for a second wooden one to go in and then the space that the two plastic ones will fit into.  I wasn't up to that sort of work as I was feeling a bit unwell.

In the afternoon our bargain furniture we purchased in Newport on Saturday was delivered.  A lovely G Plan cabinet that I am going to put my records in that we got for £5!

A real bargain, it had a scratch on it as can be seen in the photo above, but it has polished up beautifully as can be seen in the photos below.  The records fit in it well, so I will transfer the rest of my records into it as well.

My main record player is currently at our old place as my husband has it, but I have the 'retro' one I got for Christmas last year that stands on legs, but had to move it to the other side of the lounge for now.  I am sure it will take a while before I am entirely happy where each item of furniture will 'live'.

We also bought a green leather two seater settee for a mere £65 which will be nice to relax on in the evenings when watching a DVD or simply reading in front of the fire.  After sitting on numerous sofas both new and second hand over the last few years when out looking, this is the most comfortable we have found.  We knew instantly upon sitting on it that it was just right.  At the moment I now have my wooden two settee facing out the patio windows so I can watch the ever changing sea and scenery and the leather settee facing the fire.  Perfect.

I tend to sit in this one during the day when I stop for a cuppa and I can look out at the sea.

This one I sit in in the evening when watch Netflix, Amazon or a DVD.

Thursday has dawned beautifully.  A lovely blue sky.  There is a breeze, but I think I will take a walk into the town for a wander round and make the most of the good weather while I can.

My little planters are looking so pretty.

Gorgeous blue sky can be seen through my kitchen window.

My new tap - which can't really be seen above the sill now which I like.

I did get out for a walk into our local town.

The waves were crashing on the beach, not especially big, but certainly noisy.  It was quite breezy that is for sure!  I walked a kind of round loop, going down one way and then up a very steep hill the other.
