After working hard most of the day I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous afternoon and go for a walk.
I feel so incredibly lucky to have a beach within close walking distance to where I now live. It is what I have dreamed about for so long. To be able to just walk out my door and head off into the countryside is just amazing and to have a beach so close just tops it off.
There have been some relatively recent landslips at this beach so I thought I would take a photo, to see how the landscape changes.
It is a very stony beach, but it is still wonderful.

It was a pleasant hour or so walk and I feel very refreshed. My step thingy ma jig on the phone says I walked about two miles (I think it underestimates it as I actually worked out one of my routes I used to do at our old place and it was more than my phone used to record) and apparently 19 floors! It is hilly!
Congratulations on moving into your new home! What a lovely dream to have and I'm so pleased for you that's it's finally come to fruition. The views and the area look stunning and countryside and a beach is exactly what I'd love to have on my doorstep eventually. House buying does seem complicated in the UK, it always surprises me how anybody ever ends up moving tbh. Wishing you and yours the very best in your new home. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. It really is a dream come true and I still can't quite believe it. I still have a lot of unpacking to do, working on one room at a time as I am currently on my own. House buying is mega complicated here! But still we made it at long last. Hoping to catch up with your blog and others next week.

DeleteHaving a beach to walk along is awesome. There is nothing quite as refreshing as filling the lungs with fresh ocean air, and there is nearly always something to pick up off the beach and take home.
ReplyDeleteI had the same issues with the app on my phone, and in the end stopped using it because it was too frustrating. It would even change the length of the same walk I was doing every day!
Oh it is so wonderful. Just what I had hoped - either countryside or beach and I am lucky enough to have both! Doesn't get much better than that. Very refreshing indeed. I like walking so it is nice to be able to do it without the constant roar, noise and air pollution of the M25!
