Teeth Chattering Tuesday

Gosh it has been chilly today!  Lovely sunshine first thing this morning, but it soon clouded over unfortunately so had a dull look to the day.  Stanley and I managed to get out for a walk while there was still some blue sky. Percy declined to come!

Bailey and Felix munching on carrots while I clean out their cage.  It is nice and clean with fresh warm hay which I am sure they will appreciate tonight.

While outside I took a few quick photos of some roses that are still in bloom.

The leaves in the back garden have been racked up and put in the compost bin.

I had an eye appointment today at an eye clinic to check the white lumps (pinguelcua) in my eyes as they do on occasion give me a bit of grief.  Fortunately nothing to worry about which is what I suspected, but the optician wanted to refer me just to make sure, so I am pleased. I've been given some new drops to try for the dryness I get which should also help any irritation the lumps cause.

I finished the rabbit this afternoon.  I haven't made clothes for it yet, but had some spare clothes that I tried on for size.  I am not convinced by the rabbit... I think I am better at making Tiny Rag Dolls!  But I guess this was a first attempt with different fabric to that that was recommended.  In hindsight I think I probably should have dyed the fabric so it was darker/browner.

I think the eyes are too big, so I may replace them.

Perhaps the nose isn't quite right either...

Well the day seems to have marched by at an alarming rate as these late year days seem to now the clocks have gone back.  It is already darker in the mornings as well.  I don't like it! Many more months of it yet, and it will only get worse before it gets better, so have to try and make the most of it which I am doing, by getting out walking at every opportunity.

  1. It certainly is perfect time for roses blooming, it's been overly warm here.

    1. The roses are coming to an end, but there are still a few that are braving the colder weather. My Dad told me the weather has been warming up a lot.

  3. The rabbit is gorgeous Serenata, I definitely don't think you should just stick to rag dolls. Sometimes we can be over critical of what we've made but honestly I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh my goodness Bailey and Felix are adorable. I loved our guinea pigs. There'll be no more pets after the dogs have gone to the big kennel in the sky but if I had to I would definitely choose guinea pigs again. They're just so sweet. xx

    1. Oh dear...I have already changed the rabbit, I hope you will approve of the modifications when I post pictures later today! You are probably right we can be over critical of what we make...

I took a photo of my other two, but they moved as I took it and I didn't realise it was blurry until I came to upload it. I have had guinea pigs pretty much all my life, I couldn't imagine not having any now. They are such fun little characters.

  4. No flowers left in my garden I'm sad to say. My rabbit was a glove puppet and was blue and called Bobtail.

    1. Not many left in ours, just the odd rose, so it is nice to see some colour. Of course I imagine it would be rare that you would have flowers at this time of the year in your garden. Especially I am guessing as your summer wasn't the best.

Wonderful to read about your glove puppet rabbit! Do you have any pictures of him?
