Bluebells Overload

With the sun shining today we thought we better take advantage of the nice day and go and check on the Bluebells at Dockey Wood, at Ashridge Estate.  We were not disappointed, although WOW was it muddy, wet, boggy, and did I mention muddy?  We did have our walking boots on, but probably would have been better off with wellies/gumboots and it really was too bad to take the dogs on most of the tracks, especially little Percy with him being blind, he was finding it difficult to navigate.

Something you don't expect to see!  Two brides in the woods... their dresses were amazingly clean - they had the foresight to wear wellington boots to get to their spot for photos to be taken.  I would have loved to have taken a shot from the front, as this was a sneaky picture I took from behind zooming in...but didn't dare ask...it would have felt rather strange, but they had the most beautiful bouquets.  They also seemed to be having a great time, especially when I suggested they got a shot of their boots under their dresses.

Our very gorgeous Sheltie, Stanley watching Percy.

It is good to get out in the fresh air and experience nature at its best.  The scent of these bluebells is just wonderful.  I always feel even worse pain wise by the time we get home, it is hard work, but so worth it for your mental health, to get outside in the sunshine.  To think just over a year ago I had no problems walking miles at a time, how things have changed!  I held Stanley's lead today and by the time we were ready to leave the middle finger on my right hand was very numb...and the arm was worse than ever, and yet he didn't really pull or anything.  Clearly there is some nerve impingement or something going on.

  4. Beautiful pictures of the bluebell woods. I've never had much success. I'm hoping I might have some success this year.
