Such a pretty fuchsia in one of the planters on my front deck.
I've got a rain gauge! I thought this might be interesting to register the rain fall over the course of a year. Not sure this is going to be its permanent spot yet, it really needs to be where there is no vegetation overhang.
The thyme is looking really pretty.
I've managed to remove most of the climbing plant from the plum tree, just a bit I can't reach, but hopefully as it has all been cut it will gradually die and be easier to remove. I think in the end it was about five wheelbarrows full of vines!
It is either a Cambridge Gage or a Pershore Plum, not sure which yet.
Difficult to show it really, but the whole tree was covered and you couldn't see the branches or trunk.
Not sure what type of climber it is but it is certainly rampant.
Looking down the garden at the view, is a good reminder when things are a little difficult how lovely it is here despite those difficulties.
The butterflies are enjoying the plants.
Bees enjoying the climbing plant's pollen.
I need to identify it. I am guessing a type of clematis possibly.
Remembering to look up as the colours are also beautiful.
The sweet peas smell lovely.
Figs growing well.
My one and only mini sunflower - so vibrant.
We now have a fence between us and the back property, I helped put it up and I guess I am generally happy accepting about it. At least the dogs won't be able to get out now. Hopefully now I can just get on with enjoying living here.
It runs along behind the shed.
A bit close to the Bay tree - I would have preferred it up a smidgen, just so it wasn't rubbing against it, but I lost that round. It is silly really it could have been up a tiny bit and then the 'kink' wouldn't have been so noticeable either. (as seen in two photos down). This is the part that annoys me, but I need to just let it go now.
Decided to start clearing the path in the afternoon.
Managed to get some of it down, more to do. This was the hidden path that also runs further along towards the apple tree.
Bank looking clearer, and I also cleared the ivy off the apple tree.
In the front garden, more butterflies.
I planted out the succulent that I got a few weeks ago.
There was a smaller one in the pot so I have planted that one on the opposite side of the driveway. I hope they take.
Lovely colour.
The vibrancy of these poppies this afternoon with the sun reflecting off them was just stunning.
Another view from the top, just because.
Laundry cleared ready for freezer tomorrow.
On my walk today...
Total walked today: 4.5 miles
Week Three: 28.9 miles
Total walked so far: 87.1 miles Very happy with this total.
I see I'm way behind in reading your posts. But now I'm here and I see you've got such lovely flowers growing! I love the vibrant colour of the poppies. I had a kitchen with counters just that colour years ago. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteGood about the fence so the dogs can't get out.
