Friday

I forgot to post photos of the front garden for the beginning of the month, but only a couple of days late.

It is my son's 29th birthday today.  I 'stole' this photo from his FB page...oops... ;-)

Happy Birthday to a wonderful son, I am so very proud of him.

Really looking forward to when he is finally home.  Hopefully by the end of July all going well.  We will have to have a group family birthday in August this year to celebrate our birthdays.

Today in the garden...

I taped cardboard onto the roof and sides of the glass house in the hope it will shade it a bit more as it gets way too hot in there.  You may notice my ever so 'posh hold the top window open' device!  All the openers have been broken off at some stage.  Hopefully we will be able to fix them when we have the right equipment.

Cucumbers have been tied up.  This one is looking good.

The poppies are continuing to put on a good display, although are getting battered about a bit with the wind.

I've got a few sweet peas starting to flower.

Brave cauliflower growing despite it's outer leaves having been eaten.

Today's produce from the garden, some for dinner.

The cherries just keep getting better!  Delicious.

I dead headed the Valerian plants on the bank to tidy them up a bit.

On my walk today...

These looked very much like chamomile beside the fields.

The movement in the wheat was so amazing to watch, but couldn't be captured on film.

You can almost see the ripple effect in this photo.

The rock I placed a few days ago is still there!  I wonder if this means people aren't observant, or didn't want to take it?

My walk today:  3.5 miles

Total walked today: 4.8 miles

This makes me smile as I come up my driveway...seeing my shell and driftwood hanger, house name sign (name blanked out) and my wooden planter that I planted up in March.

  1. What a beautiful garden and a brilliant position near the sea.

  2. Your vegetables look very appealing as do the cherries (I love cherries). I would guess that people are quite reticent about taking the stone. I'm not sure that I would unless it said 'Please feel free to take me'. I wish that my plants were as prolific as yours in the wooden planter.
