Last Weekend in February - Beautiful Weather!

Before lunch I walked to Niton with the dogs, it is a lovely quiet walk as the road is now essentially closed, so the only use is people who live down it, and the occasional person who parks up to go for a walk.

The memorial (mentioned in previous posts) has some lovely fresh flowers.

I didn't realise when I zoomed in that there was a bumble bee sitting on the railing.

It was lovely and warm and I didn't need a cardigan over my t shirt.  To be able to walk in a t shirt in February is pretty amazing!

Looking up at the blue sky above the cliffs, is always awe inspiring.

After lunch I strimmed and mowed the front garden.

This had a ladybird on it, but after dashing inside to get my camera it had gone.

I also spotted the first butterfly for the year, a Peacock butterfly.

Lovely to see colour starting to come into the garden.

Today (Sunday, the last day in February 2021) has been another lovely day, although with a wind blowing, a lot cooler than yesterday, especially down along the coastal path!

I walked twice today, once with the dogs, and then on my own along the coastal path and then back through the woods.  I realised it has been months since I have done the coastal path, partly because of the weather, but mainly because Percy wouldn't really cope with it very well being blind etc... so I decided I need to make more effort to go out on my own after I have taken them for their walk.  I could take Stanley with me, but I don't like to leave Percy on his own.

Love this view.

I went down and sat on one of the little beaches for a while.

Pretty double daffodils in the field

So pretty.

Some more lovely daffodils, that contrast so wonderfully against the blue sky in the top background.

Back through the woods.

It was a lovely walk, although my feet and ankles are paying the price now, especially the right foot, that is doing weird things...the heel is numb, and I have neuropathic pain up the ankle a couple of inches now too which is not especially pleasant.

I can't believe tomorrow will be March!

  2. Wow to be out in a t shirt in February is impressive, we are still wearing coats but not the hat and scarf. A beautiful stroll, it was a joy to see so many signs of Spring and those beautiful daffodils. They are just starting to poke through the ground here. Take care.

    1. It was pretty amazing! Certainly not out in a t shirt today though (Monday) far too cold despite the sunshine.

  3. Oh that makes me so homesick for a real Spring - there is something about the feel of the air, the quality of the light as the sun shines through the atmosphere at that angle and seeing daffodils that really lifts the spirits.

    1. Isn't it funny how we can see photos of places/countries that really mean something to us. Every time I see photos of NZ I feel incredibly homesick even though I live in such a beautiful place.
