So that was Sunday!

A lovely Sunday afternoon stroll...and what did I see....

Small Heath Butterfly

Flower seed heads.

Purples

A nice clear path, makes for easier walking

Blackberries flowering

Light and shadows.

Watching the water lapping against the rocks.

Daisies.

I went to explore this old building today.

I'm guessing it must have been a small cottage at some stage as there is an old fire place inside.

Old metal decorative grill.

I wonder how old this is.  I tried to see if I could find any information on it, but so far have drawn a blank.

Interesting and intriguing for sure.

A grass hopper.

A black beetle, not sure what it is...till trying to identify.

Seven Spot Lady bird

Gorgeous poppy.

I also saw a rabbit and a red squirrel, but both were too quick for me to take a photograph.

In the garden today...

Newts in the pond.

I need to put the blanket weed killer in again, but I hate using poisons when there is pond life.

Giant poppy.

The plant the caterpillars are on.

Getting bigger!

Well that is the weekend almost over once again.

Planning on spending some time in the garden early tomorrow morning.  I have some peas that are starting to grow well, must photograph them!

Also hoping my missing Hermes parcel will turn up as it has my jam pots, jars etc in so I can start picking the gooseberries to make gooseberry jam.

  1. Mullein Moth caterpillars on Mullein. I used to get them here too. Super close up photos. My camera a was being awkward today (or rather, I made a mess of settings!) Tomorrow is another day . . .

When you can get to the Records Office again you might be able to find out about that ruin by looking on the Tithe Maps.

    1. They are so pretty aren't they? I hope your camera has started behaving itself.

Thank you for the information on how to find out about the ruin.

  3. That is a tough decision to make about your pond. Will the wild life in it die if you leave the weed or would it suffocate them?
Great how you are managing to photograph the insects, they are hard little critters to catch on film!

    1. I am not sure to be honest. I am pulling some of it out.

I've been photographing insects for years now :)

You took some more amazing pictures! I like the grasshopper in the pure white blossom.
