Walking on Wednesday

Gosh what a beautiful day it has been today after yesterday.

The sun was starting to rise as I set off for my walk with the dogs this morning.

It was making the cherry tree leaves glow and look so pretty.

Our Maple tree looked pretty as well with the back drop of the Ash tree and blue sky

I had an enjoyable walk today, although one of the walk leaders didn't turn up so the slow walkers and fast walkers had to be combined which meant it was a much easier walk than normal.  Still very pleasant though as it was so beautiful out.

We walked through one of the local parks.  The richness of greens in evidence.

There was a slight frost this morning, so the ground still looked ever so slightly white.

The first Wednesday of each month is tea and cake at a local church so we stopped there at the end of the walk and had 'tea and cake' of course.  I even let myself have some as a treat.

This afternoon I thought I would start another Tiny Rag Doll.  I never really know if I should write about these on this blog or not.

I'm giving her striped legs this time.

Here she is all sewn up ready for hair and features and clothes.

My TRD journal, charting my ideas and her progress.

I felt much better today than I did yesterday, in part due to the better weather, but also for getting out and walking.
The palms of my hands, forearms and elbows have been giving me a lot of grief though.  They were especially bad last night.  I really thought this particular pain had gone away and I was just left with my 'usual' right sided pain.  I'd actually forgotten just how bad it could get...that is what a few months with less pain does...leads you to a false sense of illusion that all is okay.  I really don't know what I have done to set it off.  The only thing I can think of it is the fact that walking the dogs lately I have had one arm forward and the other back as Percy lags behind and Stanley walks forward.  I think I am going to have to go back to taking them on separate walks so I can just let Percy toddle round the block without putting strain on my arm, and then I can do a more striding out walk with Stanley.

DH is out tonight playing chess so I am staying in instead of going to band rehearsal as there will no doubt be more fireworks let off, and we don't want to leave the dogs alone if this happens.  This will be the third week of no band, as the previous two weeks were cancelled due to the two different half terms in our area.

  1. Your rag doll is so sweet. Do you give her a name when she is finished being "created"?

    1. Thank you. Yes I do tend to name all the little dolls I make, although sometimes there is the odd exception. I already have a name in mind for this one, so once she is finished I will introduce her properly.

  2. The weather looks to have been beautiful where you are. It's been grey, wet and miserable again here. I think you should definitely blog about your little rag dolls and anything else you make for that matter. I love seeing what people create, it often inspires me to try something new. xx

    1. It only lasted a day...by late afternoon it started drizzling and this morning is grey, cold and damp again.

Thank you for your lovely encouraging comment.

  3. I hope taking the dogs walking separately will help avoid the extra pain.

  4. Some beautiful autumn scenery. Some of those trees look almost alight.
I'm sorry to read you're in pain and I hope this eases for you soon.
