Summing up Sunday on Monday

I walked on both Saturday and Sunday with the two walking groups I belong to.  Saturday was very damp so I didn't take any photos but I took a few yesterday afternoon.  We went somewhere I hadn't been before so that was interesting, especially as it was one of my Dad's childhood haunts.

There were quite a few ducks and swans on the lake.

Some pretty old buildings

Leafy tracks.

Since reduces my steroid dose from 20 mg to 15 mg and now down to 10 mg my feet have started hurting again which is a nuisance.  Obviously one of the unexpected positive side effects was reducing inflammation in other parts of my body.  I will have to see if it gets any worse. If it does I think I will be requesting to go back up again for longer as it was nice to have less pain going on.

In the morning I cleared some more cardboard boxes that I had stored in case I needed them, and listed some items on evilbay.  Hopefully I will make some sales. I also started to sort out some more things for the charity shops.  Some nice leather handbags that I just don't use.  I had contemplated listing them on evilbay but after my last experience of trying to sell a handbag decided it was easier to give them to charity.  Far less stress.   This week will see more clearing, sorting and tidying, a Christmas lunch tomorrow and various other activities including walking.

Sorry I haven't been visiting my usual blogs.  Hope to make some time to catch up sometime this week.  Hope everyone has a good week.

  1. We have been sorting items for the charity shop, I can't go through the effort of trying to sell items, no one wants to pay and reasonable price for things these days. It's just not worth the effort.

    1. You are absolutely right, it is not worth the effort sometimes. I sold a bag on Evilbay, it was returned because the buyer didn't read the description properly or look at the photos...and when she returned it she told me I was selling the bag too cheaply and should ask twice the amount - and yet she didn't want it?! Go figure. It ended up costing ME to list that bag and then all for nothing. I couldn't be bothered listing it again so it went to the CS.

  2. I aiming to have another clear out when we return from New Zealand.
If we can last nearly three months without things, I'm sure some of them can find another home where they will be used!
It's difficult being on steroids..the balance between the positive and negative effects. But keep walking, exercising gently helps many things both physical and mental

    1. I only had positive effects on the steroids (although not counting long term effects I guess which is why I am tappering off them...) I will keep walking, I am enjoying it too much to stop, unless the pain gets too bad of course.

I hope you are having a lovely time in NZ. It is interesting when you go away just how well you can cope with lots of things you may have thought were necessary. Trouble is when you get home, it is easy to slip back into the same old same old.

  3. One thing about where you live is that the buildings and houses are so different and it's quite refreshing to see.

  4. Selling things can be such a hassle sometimes. I still have so much "stuff" to get rid of and it is much much easier just to give it away, whether to a shop or someone I know.

    1. Oh it can be. The work involved. Photographing, editing down to a size that is easily uploaded, working out postage, finding the appropriate packaging etc...I don't think people really appreciate or understand the effort.

  5. Walking and decluttering take up a lot of time but are worthwhile so, hey, just visit when you can.
