Friday!

I mentioned I bought three craft books the other day from The Works.  They were a good price and look interesting and I am sure I will make things from them.  I just wish they wouldn't put stickers on the front that don't remove properly.  All three books have dirty sticky marks on them now so I will have to try and find some sticky remover stuff to clean them up.

This has full size patterns in it so I can see me definitely making at least one of these rabbits and some accessories.

Lots of ideas in here. Whether I use them to make a wreath or garland, or just individual decorations I am not sure yet.

Another fun book with some great patterns in it.  After knitting the elephants, bear and sheep September/October, I can see me knitting at least one of the characters in this book.

These were from a charity shop. New and unused, I do like these coasters even if they are a little 'old fashioned'.  They will be used.

The Sailor arrived home at around 6.30 this morning - yes his Dad had to get up VERY early to collect him from the airport as his plane came in around 4.30 am.  His beard has grown very thick he certainly looked like a sea-faring man!  Him and his wife left around 9.30 for their home and I am sure he is pleased to be back and will be busy unpacking and settling back into home life again.

My morning was spent vacuuming up all tiny debris that couldn't be swept up in the Conservatory and then mopping the floor.  It looks a lot better now.  I also washed a couple of door mats so hopefully they won't take too long to dry.  The conservatory looks so much clearer without all the stuff we had in it, I don't want to put any of it back, but I guess I will have to as that is where I sew.  But it is nicer having the clear space.  Although I have moved  the table I use to sew on back in - I really couldn't leave it in the kitchen to navigate around - I might consider exactly what I want to do in that space.  It feels more refreshing and 'lighter' when it is not so full to capacity.

I'm still procrastinating over glasses and frames...took DH down to see some frames today and we are none the wiser!

  1. I know exactly what you mean about the stickers on the front of books/journals. I hope you can get the goop off without damaging the actual cover. ( I especially like that first craft book, the one with Luna the rabbit.)

  2. Those coasters are very pretty. I don't find them old fashioned at all, and would love to use them in our home.

  3. Good to read your son arrived home safely. How much R&R does he get before the long list of jobs appears ;).

Those books look lovely. I'd definitely knit some of the dolls if I could put them in shoe boxes but unfortunately one of the UK rules is no stuffed toys which is a real shame. Stickers are a pet hate of mine. Bad enough on the base of something but the front of books is really irritating. xx
