Thursday already?!

Today was rather damp and grey this morning, but there were patches of blue sky which was nice, and DH managed to paint the bike shed.  Yes it should have been done earlier in the year, but sometimes these things don't get done until the last minute, or when you are reminded that it needs doing by seeing the state of it when opening it which is what happened in this case.

We went out for lunch, a bit spontaneous, but the local garden centre had a 20% discount and that along with our existing discount card, meant that it was probably worth having a look.  I got some nibbles for the guinea pigs, and we got some bird food and a free meal worm feeder with meal worm in it so hopefully the robins will be happy.

I've achieved quite a bit today, changed sheets, remade the beds, washed the bedding and some clothing. The bedroom, hall, kitchen and lounge have all been vacuumed.

Our heating timer was replaced this afternoon, so we can now set our heating again to come on when we want it to which is good, especially now the weather is getting cooler.

Last night as I had the evening to myself I did some more work on my Tiny Rag Doll.

She gained some features, necklace and earrings

The pantaloons I had made previously while in NZ from some fabric that I found in my Mum's old sewing box.

The dress I had also already previously made and was going spare.

Next she will need shoes.

My daughter in law is staying here this evening as she is going to a Hen Party weekend tomorrow. She is off in the morning.

Tomorrow afternoon I go back to see the specialist for a review of how I have been the last two months and he will probably redo the CT Scan to see how the SM has responded.  Hopefully he will also re-do blood tests to see what my Folate levels are now.

  1. Love the liottle doll - how did you do the hair? I always find that tbe most difficult pat to get right. Good luck with your appointment with the specialist appointment.

    1. Thank you Jane. I made a crochet wig cap and then added the kind of pompom curls at the end...first time I had done those, so quite pleased with how they turned out.

  2. The doll is adorable and the detail of the necklace and earrings just makes it even more lovely.

I hope your review is good news and that your folate levels are behaving themselves. I don't know if you have the same problem but my niece has a B12 deficiency and has to have injections.

Hope you have a lovely weekend. xx

    1. Thank you.

My B12 seems to be okay, but it will be interesting to see what is at the next test. My RBC was also low, so hoping that has improved. I have certainly been feeling better energy wise, and physically (i.e. no muscle pain etc) than I have in a very long time since taking the folate.

More importantly hoping the fibrous growth has slowed down or reversed with the steroid treatment, that is what I am hoping for.

  3. Your little doll is so sweet. I especially love the heart you gave her.
Hope your specialist appointment goes well. It really is no fun battling illness, but it certainly helps us to appreciate the little things in life and to learn to live the best we can every single day. Mxx
