Three Mile Thursday

That is just what I did walking and working in the garden today!

I made more of an effort today to get outside and went for a lovely new walk this morning that took me into Whitwell, then Niton and home.  It was a nice almost circular walk and a good contrast to what I normally do.

A pair of geese on a pond with their goslings.

I didn't take many photos on my walk today...I did try and get one of a little bird, but some people came up behind me with a couple of dogs and scared it away.

The newly ploughed and sowed fields are looking really green with the

My rosebush by my gate.

It is really beautiful.

I took this through the patio doors as I was eating lunch today, so not the best photo of the crow taking a bath.

I discovered paved edging round the side garden that runs up the fence line today so started to clear it.

Already starting to look a bit better.

Once cleared properly this will make it easier to mow as well.

I mowed the whole back and top garden with the exception of the orchard today.

This tree is clearly dead so I decided to cut it back as far as I could.

Eventually I will replace this with another tree.

Fruit on a tree...not sure what!

Salad vegetables growing well.  I had some with my lunch today.

Chard growing well.  I picked off some leaves to have with my dinner.

Love finding different flowers starting to bloom in the garden, a constant surprise and delight.

Two seagulls on the chimney on the house across the road.

The garden this afternoon.  Just perfect.  The sea is such a darker blue today.

    1. They were cute, but their parents were definitely not going to let me get too close! So glad you enjoy the photos and garden.

  3. The fruit could well be cherries. Lucky devil! I hope the birds don't beat you to them though - they always do here! And my Jostaberries - never tasted one yet! Every year I think, I'll pick them tomorrow and every year the birds have beaten me to it : )

You have a wonderful garden and what a view . . . I love your bronzey rose.

    1. Thank you, yes the birds used to beat us to cherries in our Hertfordshire property, plus we let the tree get too tall. Must make sure I don't let the trees get too tall here.

      Isn't the rose gorgeous?!

One tip, and I'm sure you know already...best not to plant a replacement tree exactly where the other tree was

    1. Thank you, I thought they were probably cherries. Closer to them ripening I will put a net over them. No I won't plant a tree in the exact same spot :)

    1. Thank you, the garden is lovely, sometimes a bit daunting at the rate things grow! But keeps me busy and distracted.

  7. It must be fun making discoveries in your own back garden :) I can't believe how much you manage to do all by yourself in the garden and still have energy to go for a walk. Love the photo of the goslings. Have a lovely weekend. xx

    1. Some days I seem to manage to do a lot and then other days either very little or nothing! By the evening I can barely get off the settee! I hobble around stiff as anything, but try to keep myself as active as I can.
