A Day of Good & Bad

I had planned to spend the morning in the garden today, at least until it got too hot to do otherwise, however, the gardener at Asbestos house - who I discovered last Monday is not a very nice person when he was very rude to me  - started up the chainsawing again just on 8 am this morning.  The noise was horrendous, so I decided I would pack a lunch and go out instead.

(Incidentally his rudeness was because I asked him nicely if he could be careful when chainsawing near the asbestos they have dumped as it was moving it and causing it to rub together, which will of course release fibres.  Well he completely denied it, even though when he pulled at some shrubbery I pointed out it moved, and then he was quite nasty.  Very unnecessary, but then he knows I am on my own so obviously thinks it is okay to be like that as he thinks he can get away with it.  Hopefully one day he will get his come comeuppance.  Anyone who has such scant regard to the dangers of Asbestos should have to witness someone dying from mesothelioma)

Back to something more pleasant.

I drove to Brook Bay parked the car and went down to the beach.

It was really lovely and peaceful down there.  So much nicer than chainsaw noises!

I watched some cormorants on the rocks.

I walked along the beach, looking back to take some photos, as well as ahead.

Someone has been busy!

I walked to Compton Bay and then on even further.  You can see Freshwater Bay in the distance.

Freshwater Bay.

I decided by the time I got to these steps at Compton Chine that I ought to start heading back.  These were rather daunting though!

Looking down.

The richness of colour of the earth is quite amazing.

It was really starting to get hot!

The car park at Compton Bay is starting to fill up.  When I drove back past it just after lunch, it was completely packed!

A kestrel I believe.

Landslip.

It was too hot to stay there to have lunch and a little early, so I decided to go over to Newtown Estuary

It was nice and peaceful.

I sat and had my sandwiches before heading back.  It was very hot and I was starting to get a bit of a headache.

The bridge at Yarmouth was about to open up for some boats to go through.  I should have parked up closer to the line, but thought as I was in front it would be okay.  I was pleased at the thought I would be able to get a photo....

But then this happened!

Mind you it probably would have happened even if I had parked up at the line, as cyclists seem to often do this when stopped at lights - come in front of you.

When I got home I was disappointed to realise the noise hadn't abated it had actually got worse, it was now chainsawing in surround sound!  Front, back and side!  Everyone seemed to be at it!

Finally by the time I had finished my dinner the noise had stopped so I was able to go up and water the garden in peace.

I had my first two strawberries tonight.  The nicest strawberries I have tasted in years.

There is some good fruit forming on the trees and bushes.

Some annihilated my kale last night!  Not happy.

Beans are growing well.

The pile at the end of the garden at Asbestos House is getting higher.  Much higher and it will be on the telephone pole connectors.  I hope our telephone line isn't connected to this!

Yesterday evening 8.30 pm the light reflecting off the boats.

    1. I reported it to the council who said they can't do anything as it is on private property. They did write to the owners...but the gardener just had a go at me about that. They did say under normal circumstances they would come out to speak to them to suggest that they move it, but that is all.

  2. Your garden looks to be flourishing :)
Hopefully the need for using his chainsaw will soon be ended, but it was good you were able to get out and find some peace and quiet like you did.

    1. You would think wouldn't you?! Noise again this morning! Yes that is the advantage, it is easy to get out and away from the noise.

    1. Yes he should...and does, but refuses to acknowledge it.

I try and ignore and soak up the beauty instead.
