We had a lovely Sunday afternoon at National Trust's Mottistone Manor Gardens.
Love this cabin. I have taken a photo of it before the last time we visited, but this time I forgot to take a photograph of the outside.
We had a pleasant lunch outside in the gardens.
Beautiful yellows against the blue sky.
Mining bees.
A glimpse of the sea through the trees.
Lovely paths wandering through the gardens.
Gorgeous sweet peas.
My MIL and hubby.
The history behind Warrior is fascinating and amazing to read about his life. What an amazing story and such a brave animal.
There are also some lovely walks which we will probably go on when the gardens themselves are closed. It is such a beautiful place to visit.
WOW! I feel like I've been there now. A truly beautiful house (love good architecture) and what amazing gardens. They must have so many gardeners to keep all that looking so perfect. Thank you for all the photos - your broadband must be a darn sight faster than ours! If we didn't live so far away, we would definitely go there. You're fortunate to have it on the same island!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, sorry there weren't many words, but I felt too lazy to write much ;) Glad you enjoyed them. Yes feel very lucky that we have so many different places to visit on the island, especially when as members of NT and EH they are free...there aren't too many places here, but the ones that are are certainly worth visiting. Broadband isn't too bad, but I do 'shrink' the photos to upload them. Telephone mobile reception is rubbish though! Most of the time have no signal at all.
DeleteThat was a wonderful visit! Beautiful gardens and I love The Shack!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it :)
DeleteThank you for taking me on that lovely walk around the gardens and other properties.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome, glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteIndeed a beautiful place for a visit, thank you so much for taking us along with you. Spectacular photos.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, so glad you enjoyed taking a wander with me.
DeleteWell I went through that last night but wasn't sure that I'd taken it all in so I've just gone through it a second time. I confess to being a little envious.
ReplyDeleteThank you Graham, it really was so beautiful there, and on the island. I feel like I live in a bit of an oasis at times...unless I'm slogging my guts out in the garden, but then all I have to do is take a breather and look at the view and think how blessed I am to live here.
