Waro Rocks Limestone Scenic Reserve, New Zealand.

What a beautiful place!  While in Whangarei my friend took me to see the Waro Rocks and Lake at Waro Limestone Scenic Reserve

This gorgeous lake was once a fully working quarry.  You would never think it today as it was so wonderful peaceful and tranquil.

There is a wonderful track that you can walk round the whole of the lake, giving glorious views of the Lake from all aspects.

It really was  a beautiful day and I loved the way the clouds were reflected in the Lake.

The formations were very interesting.

More beauty on a lovely warm day.

Information boards were dotted around the track, making it all the more interesting learning about the history of the place.

In the background of this photo you can actually see three ducks flying!

This was of course where the birds shown on a previous post were photographed.

Contemplating the beauty.

My friend.

I wish we had taken a picnic.  Perhaps next time!
