Goldfinch in the garden.

We saw a Goldfinch in our garden this afternoon - it didn't stay long enough for me to photograph it, but hopefully it will come again and bring its friends.  We hardly ever see one and I don't think I have seen one for a couple of years so it was a real delight to see.

The camellia in our garden is looking lovely.

  1. We've had a pair of Goldfinches in the area for several weeks at least and I have managed a few photos. After the large flocks I see in NZ I find a single pair rather strange. I do see them here most summers though so I assume they are not accidental.

    1. It is strange, we get such a large variety of birds in our garden I am always surprised we don't see Goldfinches very often...I am not sure why this is, whether the area doesn't suit them?

  2. Just today I saw a female Goldfinch at the birdbath. I hope the male is around too. Sadly they don't nest here in town so they'll be leaving soon..
