Afternoon Tea, Red Squirrels and Bird Watching

I had a lovely afternoon with a friend on Tuesday.

We had a delicious afternoon tea.

Plus thoroughly enjoyed watching the red squirrels feeding.

Although we get a lot at our place, they tend to stay in the hazel nut trees, so we don't see them so often.

We also did a spot of bird watching.

    1. I just love Long Tailed Tits, they remind me a little of NZ Fantails they way they flit around, but not so brave. I miss seeing them here, we used to see a lot at our place in Hertfordshire. I don't think I have seen any in our garden here yet. The red squirrels are such fun.

  2. How wonderful to have red squirrels in the garden. We just get the greys and had to use a squirrel baffle and squirrel-proof feeders to deter them. They seem to have forgotten us now. That afternoon tea looks splendid.

    1. Really lovely to have red squirrels in the garden, and my friend is so lucky to see them directly out of her kitchen window. I am hoping to set something up outside mine to see if I can encourage them to do the same here...not sure I'll be successful as we have a bank and a lot of trees that they prefer to stay hidden in.
